Join us for a brand new talk, led by one of our expert costumed guides, which explores the role of the cook, and eating and drinking on board the Mary Rose along with a behind the scenes tour of the museum.

This experience is perfect for history lovers and foodies alike!

Book your place to experience an unforgettable tour of the museum, including behind the scenes access to our Reserve Collection, led by an expert guide, followed by refreshments in our Wardroom, access to our exterior viewing balcony and a talk delivered by one of our expert team members.

This brand new talk will explore:

  • What were conditions like for the crew? What did they eat and drink, who prepared and served their food and what do we know about the ship’s cook. What tools did the cook have to hand?
  • Find out fascinating facts about food and drink on board; what did it taste like, was it nourishing and did the crew really only drink beer, and what tools did the cook have to hand?
