Car Parking

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is less than 5 miles from Junction 12 of the M27, follow the brown and white signs to ‘Historic Dockyard’ which will lead you to our official 295 space car park which is located only 400 yards from the entrance at Victory Gate. If this car park is full there are others within close proximity at Gunwharf Quays and Havant Street. There is a height restriction to the car park set at 2.1m.

Disabled parking is also available within the car park.

Royal Navy Submarine Museum

The Royal Navy Submarine Museum offers free carparking. If using a satnav device, please use the address: Haslar Road, Gosport, PO12 2AS.

 Be aware that satnavs may direct you to the centre of the naval base. Please follow tourism signs for the Royal Navy Submarine Museum once you’ve entered Gosport.

Portsmouth’s park and ride service runs seven days a week, is situated at a purpose-built location on the M275 entrance to Portsmouth.

BY COACH, BUS OR RAIL

Portsmouth Harbour Station/Hard Interchange coach and bus station is a few minutes walk from Victory Gate.

Coaches

The majority of national coach services to Portsmouth stop at the Hard Interchange (adjacent to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard entrance).

Bus

Many local and regional bus services stop at the Hard Interchange (adjacent to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard entrance). Please visit First Bus, Stagecoach or Bluestar Bus services for the most up to date routes and timetables.

Rail

South Western Railway run frequent trains from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour, with a journey time of only 90 minutes. There are also regular services to and from Southampton Central with links to the South West and the West country. Portsmouth Harbour train station is only 200 yards from the entrance to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
