What is the pupil premium initiative?
The pupil premium scheme is an initiative started by Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and supported by Portsmouth City Council and Gosport Schools to make the Dockyard more accessible for local families in Portsmouth and Gosport.
Who is eligible for this scheme?
Any family who has a child in a qualifying Portsmouth or Gosport school and receives benefit-related free school meals. You must meet both criteria to qualify.
How do I know if my child’s school qualifies?
If you are eligible, you will receive an email from your school with a link to register your interest, once the registration period is closed the applications are sent back to the school for cross referencing.
I think I am eligible but did not receive and email or letter?
If you feel you are eligible, please contact your child’s school or Portsmouth City Council to find out why you did not receive an email or letter.
What am I entitled to?
You will receive 1 Family Ultimate Explorer ticket valid for 2 adults and 3 children, which is valid for 1 year (from date of issue), and includes unlimited entry to all Portsmouth Historic Dockyard attractions.
How do I claim my family ticket?

Once you have registered you will automatically be sent tickets, these will not be active until 15th July if you are confirmed eligible, if you are not confirmed by the school we will contact you to let you know however you must contact the school directly if you have any queries over eligibility.
You must register your interest by 23rd June 2024 any applications after this date will not be considered.
What if I do not have access to the internet to register?
Please ask your school for an alternative way to register.
How will I receive my tickets?
Your tickets will be distributed via email, after a checking process with the school.
When will I receive my tickets?
We will aim to have all tickets sent electronically to you by 15th July 2024.
What can I use my tickets for?
Your ticket is valid to any Portsmouth Historic Dockyard attraction including HMS Victory, The Mary Rose and HMS Warrior. Our Gosport attractions are also included in this ticket, please visit the Plan your Visit webpage on the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard website for a full list. Your ticket is not valid for any special events or additional tours and experiences that may be on sale.
How long are my tickets valid for?
Your ticket will be valid for 1 year from 15th July 2024, (if you are confirmed as eligible).
Who are my tickets for?
Your tickets are valid for the named adults submitted either on the online form or at our Visitor Centre and 3 unnamed children.
Can I let my friend use my tickets?
No. All Portsmouth Historic Dockyard tickets are non-transferable and for the named persons only. ID checks are carried out upon arrival in line with standard procedure for all Portsmouth Historic Dockyard tickets purchased or issued.
I haven’t received my tickets who do I contact?
If you haven’t received your tickets please contact enquiries@nmrn.org.uk with your name, email address, and child’s school.
