Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is located less than 5 miles from Junction 12 of the M27. Follow the brown and white signs to βHistoric Dockyard,β which will guide you to our official 295-space car park, just 400 yards from the entrance at Victory Gate. Please note, there is a height restriction of 2.1m for the car park. If this car park is full, additional parking is available nearby at Gunwharf Quays and Havant Street. Please do not attempt to enter the dockyard via Trafalgar Gate.
Disabled parking spaces are also available within the car park, along with four electric vehicle charging points. Unfortunately, these cannot be prebooked, so it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you are using a Sat Nav device, our car park postcode is PO1 3GW (Admiralty Road). Be aware that satnavs may direct you to the centre of the naval base. Please follow tourism signs for Portsmouth Historic Dockyard once youβve entered Portsmouth.

Free car parking is available at this site. The car park closes at 4.45pm β please be aware that cars left in the car park after this time risk being locked in.

Park and Ride
The Portsmouth Park and Ride is conveniently located just off Junction 1 of the M275. The PR1 service runs daily, with buses every 15 minutes, taking only 11 minutes to reach The Hard Interchange. From there, it’s a short walk to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Portsmouth Harbour Station and The Hard Interchange coach and bus station are conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from Victory Gate.
Coaches
For coach parking information, please contact our Advanced Sales Department at 02392 839766 (option 3) or email enquiries@historicdockyard.co.uk. Most national coach services to Portsmouth stop at the Hard Interchange, located right next to the entrance to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
Bus
Several local and regional bus services stop at The Hard Interchange, just beside our Victory Gate entrance. For the latest routes and timetables, please visit First Bus, Stagecoach, or Bluestar Bus.
Rail
South Western Railway operates regular trains from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour, with a journey time of only 90 minutes. Southern Railway run regular services through from Brighton and Victoria. There are also frequent services from Southampton Central, offering links to the South West and the West Country. Portsmouth Harbour station is just 200 yards from the entrance to the dockyard.
