This October half term explore the world of witches, wise women, medicine and superstition in Tudor times and meet our very own Wise Woman.
On board the Mary Rose, the Surgeon acted as medic to the crew, but on land many a wise woman offered her services treading the fine line between healing and witchcraft – a dangerous path indeed!
The Tudor Wise Woman could cure you of any ill – buttered spiders for sore throats, snail slime to heal cuts – any takers?
Come along to our immersive performances led by the Wise Woman herself and explore the dark, mysterious and magical world of healing in Tudor times, and uncover the fine line between medicine and witch craft and many spooky, gross and strange cures for Tudor ailments.
Performances held in our Learning Centre at 11:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm – free for all Mary Rose ticket holders.
These fun, immersive and engaging performances will be led by costumed characters and are suitable for all ages.
