HMS Holland 1

Step back to 1901 with HMS Holland 1, the first-ever submarine in the Royal Navy’s history. After being recovered and painstakingly restored in 1982, you can now experience the birth of the Submarine Service.

X24

The X24, a compact and courageous X-class submarine, played a pivotal role in the D-Day landings, clearing the way for the thousands of vessels and servicemen that stormed the Normandy beaches. Come see how these mighty little boats made history!

"Really lovely museums and so worth the money. The staff are so lovely, kind and knowledgeable. One of our sons is quite severely autistic and because he cant communicate if something upsets him (and it could be literally anything!) but the staff were so kind and thoughtful to put us at ease. The submarine tour is so immersive and you really feel as though you're at sea! The boat trip to the other museums is almost worth the entry fee on its own! Would definitely recommend it to anyone and we will surely be coming for years to come!"

"A fantastic museum dedicated to the history of submarines in the British Navy. Several original submarines are on display, along with many fascinating exhibits and interesting models. The highlight is undoubtedly HMS Alliance, which can be explored in its entirety. A particularly nice touch was that during my visit, a former submarine crew member was on board, sharing insights into daily life aboard such a vessel."
