If you are using a satnav device, our car park postcode is PO1 3GW (Admiralty Road). Be aware that satnavs may direct you to the centre of the naval base. Please follow tourism signs for Portsmouth Historic Dockyard once you’ve entered Portsmouth.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is located less than 5 miles from Junction 12 of the M27. Follow the brown and white signs to ‘Historic Dockyard,’ which will guide you to our official 295-space car park, just 400 yards from the entrance at Victory Gate. There is a height restriction of 2.1m for the car park. If this car park is full, additional parking is available nearby at Gunwharf Quays and Havant Street. Please do not attempt to enter the dockyard via Trafalgar Gate.

Disabled parking spaces are also available within the car park. Unfortunately, these cannot be prebooked, so it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note, the main car park is available for 24 hour parking, and toilet facilities are available during day time hours. 3 dual chargers with 6 in total are provided for electric cars.

• Up to 4 hours – £6.00
• Up to 6 hours – £8.00
• Up to 8 hours – £10.00
• Up to 24 hours – £15.00
• Thereafter per 24 hour period – £15.00

Payment is made on return to the car park. Cash and card payments are accepted, with the exception of American Express.

Portsmouth Park and Ride is a convenient and sustainable way to travel into the city.  The daily PR1 bus service runs every 15 minutes to The Hard Interchange. From there, it’s a short walk to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. During summer weekends, an additional route operates to Southsea.

Park & ride fares are great value, with flexible ticket options available for frequent travellers. Passengers can hop on and off throughout the day, and tickets can easily be purchased either on the bus or via the First Bus app.

South Western Railway operates regular trains from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour, with a journey time of only 90 minutes. Southern Railway run regular services through from Brighton and Victoria. There are also frequent services from Southampton Central, offering links to the South West and the West Country. Portsmouth Harbour station is just 200 yards from the entrance to the dockyard.

Portsmouth Harbour Station and The Hard Interchange coach and bus station are conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from Victory Gate.

Several local and regional bus services stop at The Hard Interchange, just beside our Victory Gate entrance. For the latest routes and timetables, please visit First Bus, Stagecoach, or Bluestar Bus.

Ferry services operate regularly from France, Spain, the Isle of Wight, and Gosport, provided by the companies below. These services offer convenient access to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, making it easy to travel to our attraction by water.
